My full name is…
Chicka chicka slim shady or Jessie Anne Whittaker.
But my friends call me…
Jkat.
I grew up...
On the Northern Beaches of Sydney in a cute little town called Palm Beach
My daily routine looks like…
I start my day with a collagen hot chocolate, looking out at the trees. Sounds relaxing but in all reality, Addi, my 2 year old is racing around on her bike, up and down the hallway while I try to dress her and get out of the house. We love a stop at the coffee shop for a yarn and debrief of the day to come. Once Addi is off to kindy, mum charges in to a day of body work, emails and business tings. Before I know it, I’m collecting Addi for an after kindy ice cream and nursery rhymes in the car. The evening generally consists of a few laughs over dinner, compression boots or LED therapy and then we get up and do it all over again #mumlyf
The CALMM began with…
A stressed out office chook wanting to find CALMM in her daily life. My brain runs at a million miles an hour so the only way I was going to pump the breaks was to shift in to wellness and live from a place of ‘less is more’. And with that, The CALMM was born. There was no more storm.. ha get it, The CALMM before the storm.
Helping those who really need it. I find so much joy working with women through endometriosis, gut inflammation, post natal hormonal challenges and anyone else with a body who needs a helping hand.
The pace of my life right now is…
Somewhere between the slow lane and the fast lane. I’m 31 weeks preggy and trying to find time to unwind and lean in to a slower place.
I feel most creative when…
I’m in the treatment room. It’s my place of meditation, I let go of the world outside and tune in to what’s in front of me.
A scent that instantly soothes me…
My own blend of cedarwood, vetiver and lavender. Something coming to The CALMM very soon.
Motherhood has taught me…
To let go. My inner control freak doesn’t align to the life of a mum. Addi has taught me to accept what is and go with the flow.
A ritual I’ve introduced during pregnancy is…
Regular self massage with body cups, long showers and more sleep.
My approach to self-care looks like…
Fortnightly massage, LED therapy and letting my partner cook for me every night.
Something I’ve recently learned about myself is…
Don’t sweat the small stuff. Overthinking doesn’t get you anywhere.
A moment I felt proud of my work was…
Recently walking in to my Rose Bay studio at 5:30am. I turned the lights on and took a deep breath. I couldn’t believe I had created the space and had such an incredible team working with me to spread the love in Sydney.
When I need to reset creatively I…
Turn the music up and dance around the house. I’m most in flow when my body is in flow.
My favourite meal…
I love a good steak, mash potato and salad.
A sound that brings me comfort is…
The sound of kookaburras in the morning.
I find beauty in…
Nature, I love the water and you can’t go wrong with a big old gum tree.
My favourite time of day is…
The morning, waking up to my babies cuddles.
I am hopeful for...
Being that person to make you laugh.
I am looking forward to...
Meeting the newest member of our family.
