Dee

Dee

My full name is…
Doris Kawai Tang.

But my friends call me…
Dee. My family call me Mui-Mui which translates as little sister in Cantonese.

I grew up…
On the wild west coast of Australia.

My cultural background is…
Chinese Australian.

Home right now is...
Fremantle.

You'll usually find me...
In my little shack.

Being a mother is…
Exhilarating and exhausting, hilarious and humbling.

My favourite place in the world is...
In a group hug with my husband and babies.

I find comfort in…
Making Chai with Reishi every morning.

The perfect evening is…
No one asking me any questions.

Before becoming a mother, I was...
A tomboy.

Right now I am…
Returning to my tomboy roots.

To me, love is…
Always here. Love is the reason for being.
Love is why we come to Earth for soul lessons.

I first started drawing…
As soon as i could pick up a pencil.

I seek inspiration…
From spirit.

My favourite childhood memory…
Is making potato prints at kindy.

A tradition I hope to pass down…
Is meditation.

My favourite season…
Summer.

What makes me dance…
90's Hip-hop.

I am my happiest when…
I am at the flea market.

I feel safe when…
I am with my dog Nami.

I seek inspiration…
In nature.

The perfect scent is…
Kawa Oil by Anjali.

My favourite body part is
Cheeks. Particularly cheeky cheeks.

My favourite snack is
Loco Love Chocolate. 10x bars please.

I relax when
The sea breeze known as the ‘Fremantle Doctor’ sweeps through and the afternoon light casts warm light and shadows in the sun room.

I am where I am today because of…
The decisions I made prior to this incarnation.

I am moved by
Stories of people who have passed.

I am hopeful for
Mother Earth Gaia.

I am looking forward to
The Sunday market.
